Vigo Indoor Activities: 11 Fun Ideas for a Rainy Day
It’s that dreaded time of year in Vigo where the rain is relentless and people are wondering what Vigo indoor activities there are to do on a rainy day (or month) in Vigo. While I love the rain, sometimes it’s difficult to figure out what to do in a city that doesn’t seem to fully come alive until summer. I’ve crafted a list of 11 things to do that are indoors when it’s gloomy outside so that you can still enjoy everything Vigo has to offer.
Here are my top 11 Vigo indoor activities that’ll keep you entertained for all the rainy weather

Vigo indoor activities you’ll love
Have a menú del día
If you’re used to the Spanish lifestyle, you know that lunch is an all day affair. It’s not like in the States where you scarf down your food in front of a computer screen while working.
No, in Spain we like to enjoy our meals, meaning you’ll be catching up on all the current gossip with friends, sipping a vino (wine) or a caña (house beer), and slowly eating your food for three to five hours because lunch and time with friends should be savored.
Menú del día’s are affordable and my all time favorite thing to do during the week. Vigo offers plenty of menus of the day:
- Migas is by far my favorite spot for a menu. You can opt for a half menu which includes a starter, main dish, and a drink.
- Getting the full menu which includes a dessert at Migas is a must! The co-owner makes them and you can literally taste all of the love she puts into crafting the desserts each day.
- Another affordable option is Fai Bistés located in Casco Vello (the old quarter). They change their menu of the day daily.
- Their churrasco is superb and the starters like melon with prosciutto are light yet filling. They post the menu on a black board outside the restaurant so you can stroll by to see if you’re interested in their current menú del día.
So if its a rainy day, this is a great indoor activity in Vigo that’ll keep you occupied for hours.

Museums
Vigo has quite a few museums and art galleries that are great for wandering around when the weather is gloomy out. Near the old town you’ll find MARCO which showcases modern art and other alternating exhibitions. Alternatively, if you want more of a view, you can check out the Museo do Mar to get in touch with your inner marine biologist.
If you’re looking for something a little alternative or edgy, you could walk around the art galleries that Vigo has to offer like Maraca or La Contenedora.
Another option is checking out the Escuela Municipal de Artes y Oficios (EMAO) which occasionally holds exhibitions at their school, showcasing their current student’s art.

Try ceramics
If you’re like me and you aren’t great at art, but you want to get creative. Great indoor activities in Vigo like ceramics is a great option. I recommend Pinta Tu Ceramica because I love ceramics but I’m honestly not great at it.
Here you get two hours to paint whichever piece you pick and you can pick it up a week later. If you forget about it, don’t worry they’ll keep your piece of art for an unprecedented amount of time. I may or may not have left my work of art there for a month and they graciously kept it for me.
If you’re an avid pottery maker then you should check out some of the studios around Vigo like: Quintas Estudio ceramico, Rabuda, and Ceramica Belen Soto.

Take a crack at bowling
Vigo has a total of three places to go bowling, but my favorite is La Bolera. If you come during the day, but find yourself here later in the night, you’ll be in for a treat with their cosmic bowling; the music and neon lights will help you bowl a perfect game.
If you get tired of bowling, no problem, they also have air hockey, pool, and show live sports on their TV screens. There’s plenty to do at this indoor activity in Vigo.
If you’re not feeling the vibe at La Bolera, there’s also:
- Bowling Vigo located near Samil. You could bowl a few games here and work up an appetite for an all you can eat sushi buffet at UMI Sushi or check out the beer garden at Bar Maui La Terraza (Av. Samil, 67).
- Vialia Bowling. Situated in the Vialia mall, this is a perfect option if you’re a family looking for Vigo indoor activities. Not only does this location have bowling, there’s also arcade games, making it a good option if you’re looking for Vigo indoor activities all the family can enjoy.

Go to the movies
At first glance, Vigo may not seem like a city that offers any alternative movie theaters, but you would be mistaken. If you’re looking for international movies and indie films, then Multicines Norte is the perfect spot for you. This is by far my favorite place to go and watch a movie. There’s only four screens and the snacks come at an affordable price.
If you want to watch current movies that are out right now in reclining chairs, and even bring in some Taco Bell from next door, then Cine Yelmo Premium Vialia is a must. Most of the movies here are in Spanish, but if you’re looking for American blockbusters in their original format, then check out what they’re showing on Tuesday nights (this is when they’re most likely to have English versions).
Last but not least, inside Eliptica Central shopping center, you’ll find a newly renovated movie theater, Cines Tamberlick Plaza Elíptica. Here you can watch current Spanish movies, or American movies in their original format.
Pro trip: At Cines Tamberlick they offer more showings of films in their original language than at Cine Yelmo. Wherever you decide to watch a film on a rainy day in Vigo, these theaters should be on your Vigo indoor activities list.
Check out the live music scene
There are many Vigo indoor activities to do like listening to live music, but finding it is a bit difficult. Vigo is a word of mouth kinda place and many venues don’t advertise their shows well or at all. Luckily for you I enjoy a good mystery and have found quite a few venues to watch good shows.
One that I’ve found so far is Radar Estudios. They have regular shows throughout the week in their main venue but also in their intimate recording studio. If you’re a touring musician I recommend booking here!
Another great spot to indulge in live music is Arco da Vella on Sunday nights. They host jam sessions where you can pick up a guitar and belt out a few of your favorite tunes. Locals come here to play and all have different musical talent and style which makes for a fun night.
But, be warned, during the summer the jam sessions take a break and start again after summer.
Pro tip: Arco da Vella is cash only so don’t forget your euros.
Play arcade games & pool
Arcade games and pool are great ways to pass a rainy day in Vigo. If you’re looking for an indoor activity during the day, then check out La Bolera for pool, air hockey, and bowling.
One of my favorites is Cafe Milenium there’s one pool table, foosball, darts, and board games. This spot is unassuming but is so much fun. In the back you’ll find comfy chairs to play board games.
The bars next to Milenium also have pool tables and darts, but Milenium is my favorite.

Browse the Public Library
When it’s rainy out, there’s nothing better than grabbing a book and a coffee. I love checking out the Biblioteca Pública de Vigo and looking at their comic section. They have comics from local Galicians, Japanese, American, European–you name it.
I love coming here, grabbing a comic, and checking out one of my favorite cafes nearby. It’s also a great way to practice my Spanish.
If you come, be sure to check out the bulletin boards to find local events going on and other Vigo indoor activities you’ll enjoy.
Create your own memories at the Selfie Museum
While the weather outside may be cloudy and rainy, you can still take impeccable photos at Gallery Selfie to brag about back home to your friends and family. Here you’ll find 15 different rooms in Pop art, grunge, and other styles to immerse yourself in.
Enjoy walking through the rooms, creating your own photos, and experimenting with different sceneries.
Grab a coffee and hang out at the Cat Cafe
When it’s rainy outdoors, nothing is better than getting cozy with a book and a cute cat. At Ailuro Cat Cafe all of this is possible. This is the first cat cafe in Vigo which is run by two women who first met in Madrid during their studies.
They love all things books, cats, and coffee. Their new cafe provides a temporary home for the cats where customers have the opportunity to meet the cats, sip some coffee, and adopt them!

Try breaking out of an Escape Room
Want to distract yourself from the rainy weather outside and spend some time at Vigo indoor activities? Then come to Área 60 Escape Room Vigo. Here you’ll test your skills in an immersive and unique storyline. There are two different storylines to play.
One is Sherlock themed and the other has an apocalyptic storyline (no, spoilers). Be careful to choose your teammates carefully; your success depends on teamwork, communication, and the ability to think creatively under pressure.
Which of these Vigo indoor activities did you try out? Any other Vigo indoor activities you’d be interested in?
